Supercool Pedals is a small, family-run effects pedal company based in Peterborough, Canada. Founded and operated by musician and artist Jamie Muir, with the support of his wife Carissa, the brand is built on a simple idea: make original pedals that sound good, look distinctive, and feel inspiring to use.
Like many musicians, Jamie came up through years of playing, recording, and repairing his own gear out of necessity. Learning to fix amps, guitars, tape machines and old keyboards naturally led to circuit design, and eventually to building pedals for other players. What began as curiosity and problem-solving grew into a focused approach to effects design, rooted in hands-on experience rather than trends.
Supercool Pedals stands out through its combination of thoughtfully voiced analogue circuits and bold, nostalgic artwork. Each pedal is designed to offer something musically useful and characterful, whether that’s the layered textures of the ’77 Fuzz Blender, the movement of the Triniphase, or the straightforward punch of tools like the Caffeine Boost or 800 Preamp. The emphasis is always on feel, interaction, and sounds that reward time spent playing.
The range covers fuzz, drive, modulation, compression and utility effects, alongside DIY kits and small runs of creative extras. While the designs are playful and visually striking, the circuits themselves are carefully tuned, practical, and built to work in real pedalboards and recording setups.
Supercool Pedals is very much a musician-led project, shaped by years of making do with limited resources and learning what actually matters in use. If you value originality, honest design, and pedals with both personality and purpose, Supercool Pedals is well worth exploring.
